Methods are detailed in the Data Documentation Guide. The study used a crossover design investigating the effects of two different pairs of shorts, one designed as an orthotic pair and one a placebo pair. Each pair were evaluated for their immediate objective effect and their acceptability to participants following two weeks’ wear at home. Only the quantitative data is archived here. 1. Measures of walking ability Objective measurement of walking ability involved (1) use of a GAITRite mat for gait speed and cadence at a self-selected walking speed and spatiotemporal gait parameters, (2) use of Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) for assessing trunk and pelvic stability in walking and (3) use of the Timed 25-foot Walk (T25FW) for assessing maximal gait speed and dual task cost. 2. Dual task cost of walking and cognition 3. Balance confidence (UK version of the Activities Balance Confidence scale) and self-perceived walking ability (12-item Multiple Sclerosis Walking Scale)
