Summary

Raw gut microbiome data files produced by Diversigen USA of people with Parkinson's. Sample one taken at baseline, sample two taken at 12-weeks. Two groups one taking probiotic for 12 weeks the other taking placebo for 12 weeks.

Additional details Additional details Types of data: Dataset Collection period: From To July 2019 October 2023 Geographic coverage: England, UK Data collection method: People with Parkinson's provided a fecal sample at two time points. The samples were preserved in sterile tubes provided by Norgen. The samples were shipped to Diversigen USA where bacterial DNA were extracted and sequenced. Data processing and preparation activities: Samples were stored in -90 degree freezer before ice packed shipment to the USA. All regulatory documents were completed and extra precautions were taken as this was during the Covid pandemic. Statement on legal, ethical and access issues: The study was approved by the University REC, NHS IRAS, MHRA and HRA. All data are anonymised and represent the DNA of the bacterial microbiome, not the DNA of the host human.
